The Adventure Awaits!
Your Guide to a Fun & Joyful Pet Photography Experience

Hey there, fellow pet parent!
I am Leo,
We are so excited for your upcoming session and to meet your furry family member. As devoted parents to our own Lab, Golden boys, and "Coconut Retriever," we know that your pet isn't "just a pet", they are family. Capturing their unique personality and the incredible bond you share is an absolute honor for us.
Hi Friend!
And I am Lindsay
This guide is your roadmap to a session that is fun, relaxed, and completely stress free for both you and your pet. We've filled it with our best tips to ensure we're perfectly prepared to capture the images you'll cherish for a lifetime.
Let's get started!
Our Promise: Capturing Their True Spirit
Our approach to pet photography is built on one simple idea:
"The Art of Authentic Moments." For us, that means we're not just taking a picture of your pet; we're telling the story of your pet.
It means we embrace personality over perfection. We're not looking for a perfectly still, posed portrait (though we might get those, too!). We're here to capture the happy blur of a tail wag, the joyful chaos of a fetch game, and the quiet, soulful look that you love and know so well.
It means we work on "dog time." We are experts in patience. We let your pet lead the way, sniffing, exploring, and getting comfortable at their own pace. The session is an adventure for them, not a task.
It means we capture the connection. The most magical photos are the ones that show the incredible bond you share. We'll be capturing the way they look at you, the way you play together, and all the little interactions that make your relationship so special.
"But My Dog is Crazy / Shy / Won't Sit Still!"
This is, without a doubt, the number one worry we hear from pet parents. Let us put your mind at ease:
We have seen it all, and we love it all!
A high-energy dog is not a "crazy" dog; it's a dog with a big personality! A shy dog isn't "difficult"; they just need a little extra patience and space. Our sessions are specifically designed to be flexible, active playtimes. We have a deep well of patience and a few tricks up our sleeve to engage even the most energetic or reserved personalities. Your only job is to relax and have fun with your pet. We will handle the rest.
Preparing for a Paw-sitively Perfect Session
In a Hurry? The Quick Start Checklist
For those who just need the highlights, here are the four most important things to do before your session:
A Quick Play Session: A little exercise about an hour before we meet helps calm those happy jitters.
The "Go Bag": Pack their favorite (non messy) treats, a go to toy for getting their attention (squeakers work wonders), and some fresh water.
A Little Polish: Give their coat a good brush and gently wipe their eyes to make sure they're looking their best.
Safety First: Please arrive with your pet on a leash, even if they are perfectly behaved off-leash. Don't worry, we are experts on removing leashes in the final product
The Secret to Great Photos: A Happy & Comfortable Pet
Our session is all about capturing the true spirit of your animal companion. The tips below are all designed to do one thing: ensure your pet is comfortable, happy, and ready to let their personality shine.
Step 1: The Pre Session "Zoomies"
A little bit of exercise before the session works wonders. It allows your pet to burn off that initial burst of excited energy, which helps them focus and relax once the camera comes out.
The Goal: Aim for a 15-20 minute walk or a light game of fetch about an hour before we're scheduled to meet. We want them content, not exhausted!
For High-Energy Breeds: If you have an Aussie, Vizsla, or another high-drive dog or working dog, a slightly longer session might be helpful. You know your dog's energy levels best!
For Calmer Companions: For more low-key pets like Bassets or senior dogs, a simple leisurely stroll is perfect.

Step 2: Packing the "Go Bag" of Goodies
Having a bag of your pet's favorite things is the secret weapon for a successful shoot. It helps us get their attention, direct their gaze, and reward them for being such a fantastic model.
High-Value Treats:
What to Bring: Small, soft, high-value training treats are ideal. Think of something extra special they don't get every day!
Why it Matters: Smaller treats are quick to eat and won't leave a mess on their face or fur. This keeps the session moving smoothly.
Their Favorite Toy:
What to Bring: A squeaky toy, a well loved frisbee, or a favorite ball can be a game changer.
Why it Matters: We can use the toy to get those perfect, alert, ears up expressions that you love so much.
The Essentials:
Water & Bowl: To keep them hydrated, especially on warm days or during active sessions.
Collar & Leash: Please have your pet on the collar you'd like to see in the photos. We are experts at removing leashes in post production to create those beautiful, free spirited portraits safely.
Optional but Helpful:
A towel for after any water related fun.
A brush for quick fur touch ups between shots.
Waste bags, just in case!
Step 3: A Little Bit of "Spa Day" Prep
A simple home grooming session is all it takes to get your pet camera ready.
Brush Their Coat: A good brushing makes their coat look healthy and shiny and removes any stray fluff or debris.
Clean Their Eyes: Gently wipe away any tear stains or "eye gunk" with a soft, damp cloth for bright, beautiful eyes.
Haircut Timing: If your pet gets professional haircuts, we recommend scheduling it at least 3-4 days before our session. This allows the cut to grow in just a little for a more natural, soft look.

Step 4: The Human Element (That's You!)
Your pet is incredibly attuned to your energy. The most important thing you can bring to the session is a calm, patient, and positive attitude.
Trust the Process: Don't worry if your pet isn't "behaving" perfectly. We don't expect them to be professional models! Some of the best shots come from spontaneous, unplanned moments.
Have Fun: Laugh, play, and engage with your pet as you normally would. Our goal is to capture the authentic bond you share, and that means capturing your real interactions.
What Should You Wear? If you plan on being in some of the photos, we recommend comfortable clothing in neutral or complementary colors that don't have busy patterns or large logos. The focus should be on you and your pet!
After the Session: The Tail Wags On
Once our fun adventure is over, we get to work on the final magic. Here’s what you can expect:
Culling & Selecting: We carefully review every image to select the absolute best ones that showcase your pet's spirit.
